SIKESTON -- Jessie B. Young, 69, died at 3:40 a.m. March 19, 2005, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born July 7, 1935, in Portageville, daughter of the late John Francis and Marillaun Maloney Brown, she was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston. A licensed practical nurse for 30 years, she had worked for Dr. Ginny Ho in Sikeston for 20 years and also at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
On July 13, 1953, at Portageville, she married Adrian Earl Young who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2004.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sharon Young of Matthews; two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa and Bruce Vaughn of Terre Haute, Ind., and Lynda Young of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Billy Brown of Dexter; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Gene Bohannon, Russ Weekley, Cecil Owen, Gene Shaw, Bill Nance and Hubert Allred.
