Eileen Burpo
EAST PRAIRIE - Eileen Stinnett Burpo, 64, formerly of Charleston, died at 8:36 p.m. Nov. 3, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Ernest B. and Nettie Cleone Lynch Stinnett, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life and retired from Gates Rubber Co. in Charleston. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and had attended the General Baptist Church in Diehlstadt since 1999.
On Dec. 28, 1963, she married Vernon Burpo who preceded her in death in 1965.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cyndi Burpo Hensley of East Prairie; four brothers, William Stinnett of House Springs, Donald Stinnett and Robert Stinnett of East Prairie and David Stinnett of Springfield, Ill.; six sisters, Joyce Hinchey of Festus, Oneida Boatwright of Arnold, Frances Sims of Ward, Ark., Sue Adank of Tallahassee, Fla., Wanda McDermott of Charleston and Janie Bowles of Sikeston; and two grandchildren, Jamie Hensley and Ethan Hensley of East Prairie.
One brother, Earl Stinnett, also preceded her in death.
Services were conducted Saturday at McMikle Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Odle, pastor of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church, and her brother-in-law, the Rev. Gordon Adank of Tallahassee, officiated.
Burial will follow in the Armer Cemetery.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
