SIKESTON - Jack Bryant will leave this Tuesday to join his wife in Belleville, where Mr. Bryant will be associated with Parks Air College.

SIKESTON - Bob Tyron, who recently purchased the franchise of the Western Auto Stores for Sikeston, will open his store in the old City Drug quarters Saturday.

SIKESTON - Based on property valuations in Sikeston the city expects to receive $220,623.08 in taxes for 1964, according to a report presented to the city council Monday night from Ronald Lee, city collector.

SIKESTON - Coaches Wayne Crippen and Gary Silverthorn opened girls' basketball practice by practicing body positions for shooting rebounding and dribbling and then trying those moves. The season begins with the 9th- and 10th-grade Cape Central tournament Nov. 19-21.

NEW MADRID - The Dixie Players, sponsored by the Dixie Arts Council, will open the 1994-95 season with their "Fall Premiere," at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Dixie Theatre in New Madrid. Since there are no scheduled performances during the summer months, the Dixie Players are ready to entertain with lots of new music, as well as all time favorites. The public is invited to attend.

SIKESTON - Local organizations were busy Wednesday helping prepare for today's YMCA Barbecue Day to be at the National Guard Armory. Times for meals, which include barbecue and all the trimmings, are: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m.
