Dessie Wallace

FLINT, Mich. - Dessie H. Wallace, 91, formerly of Bernie, Mo., died Sept. 8, 2003, at the Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc.

Born Nov. 7, 1911, in Bernie, daughter of the late J.F. and Jennie Riddle Vincent, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie.

In 1931, at Paragould, Ark., she married Henry Franklin Wallace who preceded her in death on April 8, 1978.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Whitson; two sons, Henry Gerald Wallace and Freddie Joe Wallace; and one granddaughter, Theresa.

Survivors include: eight grandchildren, Sherry, Christopher, Patti, Tom, Ruth Ann, Jimmy, Jerry and Jackie; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bill Garrett will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
