Sid Fraley

SIKESTON - Sidney R. Fraley, 53, died at 10:50 p.m. Sept. 9, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 27, 1949, in Sikeston, son of Raymond E. "Shot" Fraley of Matthews and the late Rachel Ellen Coppage Fraley, he graduated in 1967 from Matthews High School and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. Fraley served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and was service manager with Fabick Brothers Equipment Co. for 13 years. He was of the Baptist belief.

On Sept. 14, 1979, in Charleston, he married Lee DeField who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and father include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Zach Fraley of Sikeston and Rick and Tracy Slaughter of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Cathey Daniels of Matthews and Carrie Farley of Chesterfield, Va.; and two granddaughters, Kenzie Slaughter of East Prairie and Logan Slaughter of Orlando.

One son, Scott Slaughter, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Canalou Assembly of God Church, and the Rev. Roger Jesperman of the First United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Charlie Clark Jr., Alan Duenne, Leonard Pehm, Marcus Sutton, Archie Walpole, Brad Blankenship and Eric Beaird.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Jim Smelser, Mark Ahlvin, Bill Green, Walter Pollock, Cliff Dugan, Danny Babb, Fred Showmaker and Gary Burnett.
