CHARLESTON - Albert Kent, 76, died Sept. 21, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 9, 1927, in Walls, Miss., he was the son of the late Julius and Flora Brown Kent. He worked for Paul Bell Farms in Deventer, Clint Hutcheson Farms in Charleston and Burkhart Foam Rubber in Cairo, Ill., before retiring. He was a member of Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
He married Alice Lynn Curry Kent and she survives of Blytheville, Ark.
Other survivors include: six sons and four daughters-in-law, Albert and Pat Kent Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis., Robert and Shirley Kent of Carbondale, Ill., Johnny and Martha Lynn of St. Petersburg, Fla., Nathaniel Kent of Blytheville, Ronald and Lisa Kent of Ozark, Ala., and James Kent of Benton Harbor, Mich.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy and Condra Caldwell of Charleston and Beatrice Kent and Alberta and Jeremiah McLead of Ozark; one brother, Odell Kent of Charleston; and 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with the Rev. Bobby Dean, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
