Patsy Mathis

EAST PRAIRIE - Patsy J. Mathis, 63, died at 8:35 a.m. Sept. 23, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 4, 1940, in Charleston, son of Ruby June Levan Baker of East Prairie and the late Robert Baker, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a member of the New Life Ministries Church in New Madrid.

In 1960, she married William Glen "Bill" Mathis who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1989.

Survivors in addition to her mother include: two sons, Danny Mathis of the home and Mike Mathis of Bertrand; three brothers, Norman Baker of Arnold, David Baker of Wardell and Earl Baker of Haywood City; two sisters, Wilma Stewart of Waterloo, Ill., and Michelle Riggins of East Prairie; and one grandson, Michael Mathis of Springville, Tenn.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Gregory Wayne Mathis; an infant daughter; and one brother, Thomas Baker.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday with Scott Sutton, officiating.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
