Emma Cade
EAST PRAIRIE - Emma F. Cade, 87, died at 3:45 a.m. Sept. 25, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born March 13, 1916, in New Madrid County, daughter of the late John and Ethel Woods Buttry, she lived in East Prairie most of her life. She was employed by Sells Rest Home in Matthews for many years and was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in East Prairie for more than 50 years.
In 1931, she married Bennie Franklin Cade who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1986.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill Cade of Aurora, Ind., and Gene Cade of East Prairie; one sister, Marie Ray of Benton; five grandchildren, Mike Cade and John Cade of Aurora, Joseph Cade of Woodbridge, Va., Sandra Cade of Raleigh, N.C., and Tommy Cade of East Prairie; and six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Two sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.
Visitation begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday with James Bolden and Berl Britt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
