Vivian Ward
SIKESTON - Vivian Christine "Butchie" Ward, 65, died Sept. 29, 2003, at her home.
Born Dec. 21, 1937, in Osceola, Ark., daughter of the late Coleman and Mamie Lusk Lannum, she was a member of Rauch-Spence Methodist Church in Morehouse. She was postmaster for the city of Morehouse from 1979 until retiring in 1992.
On May 28, 1955, at Hernando, Miss., she married John E. Ward who survives of the home.
She was the loving mother of three children, Johnny Ward of Sikeston, Tim Ward of Dexter and Annette O'Hara of Sikeston; loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, Tori Ward, Kelli Little, Nik Ward, Brittani Little and Patrick O'Hara, all of Sikeston and Brittany Ward and Justin Ward, both of Dexter. She was also the loving great-grandmother of two great-grandchildren, Madelina Ward and Taylor Ward of Sikeston.
Also surviving her are two sisters, Lita Palmer of West Covina, Calif., and Eva Gill of Blytheville, Ark.; and one brother, Cole Lannum of Blytheville.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents were two sisters, Nettie Schrieck and Mary Crane.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Kenneth Biggs, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Dexter, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
