MARSTON - Mavis Virginia Miller, 75, of rural Marston, died Oct. 7, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born June 24, 1928, in White County, Ark., daughter of the late Robert S. and Ophelia Key McWhirter, she graduated from Holcomb High School and was a member of the Lilbourn Church of Christ.

On Dec. 24, 1947, at Piggott, Ark., she married Alvin Anderson "A.A." Miller who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy and Mike Duley of Bloomfield and Juletta Carnell of Marston; one son and daughter-in-law, Alvin "Tony" and Cindy Miller of New Madrid; two brothers, Donald McWhirter of House Springs and Jimmy McWhirter of Lono, Ark.; and six grandchildren, Michael Duley Jr. of Jackson, Matthew D. Duley of Dexter, Melissa Duren of Fayette, Jessica White of Cape Girardeau, Carrie Miller of Baton Rouge, La., and Robert Spencer Miller of New Madrid; and six great-grandchildren, Logan Duly, Kalynn Duly, Morgan Duly and Tanner Duly of Jackson and Spencer Duren and Madeline Duren of Fayette.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert A. Miller; and two brothers, Billy R. McWhirter and Bobby G. McWhirter.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
