Wardell Coleman
WILSON CITY - Wardell "Poddie" Coleman, 60, died Aug. 18, 2003, at his home.
Born Oct. 23, 1942, in Wyatt, son of Helen Douglas of Charleston and the late Mansfield Coleman Sr., he attended Bird's Mill Elementary School and was employed by Rafferty Hunter Farms.
On Aug. 16, 1965, he married Dorothy Treadwell who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wardell Coleman and Lee and Annie Coleman of Cape Girardeau; five daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Donald Henderson , Melissa and Tyrone Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Denise and Jason Henderson of Fort Campbell, Ky., Judy and Gary Lyons of Bloomington, Ill., and Diane and Andre Burby of DeRidder, La.; four brothers, Richard Douglas Jr. of Wilson City and Mansfield Coleman Jr., Sylvester Coleman and Clifford Coleman of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Loveylee Coleman and Bernadine Coleman of Indianapolis; and 15 grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at noon at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt. Elder L.D. Pulliam, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Sparks Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
