BURTON, Mich. - Klay Gregory Kellams, 15, died Aug. 19, 2003, in Burton, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Aug. 24, 1987, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Sonya Jerrolds Kellams of Burton and Moe Kellams of Memphis, Tenn., he had recently left Portageville, Mo., to return to Burton, where he would have been a junior at Bently High School. He was active in the Flint Junior Golf League and loved all sports, especially basketball, hockey and football. Also active in his church, the First Baptist Church of Portageville, Mo., he participated in the Gift of Life Program.
Survivors in addition to his parents include: a special friend, Charlie Harris of Burton; two brothers, Nathan Reid of Saginaw and Todd Reid of Flint; one sister, Ashley Kellams of Portageville; his grandmothers, Betty Kellams of Portageville and Martha Jerrolds of Burton; aunts and uncles, Judy Bernat of Burton, Raina and Brad Keskinen of Davison, Mich., Tony Jerrolds of Flint, Carolyn Lawson of Sikeston, Rich and Jo Lyn Stegall and Dennis and Jackie Graham of Portageville; his cousins, Monica and Arron Johnson and Trent Bernat of Burton; and several great-aunts and great-uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John B. Jerrolds in 1991 and Harold Gene Kellams in 1988.
A service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home in Davison with the Rev. Berniece Matejcek officiating.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Portageville with the Rev. Mark Inman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
