Eugene Moore

LILBOURN - Eugene Moore, 76, died July 28, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 28, 1926, in Indianola, Miss., son of Augusta Moore of Lilbourn and the late Tom Moore, he worked for the Liberty Cash Company in Memphis, Tenn., for more than 35 years before retiring.

His wife, Betty Jean Moore, preceded him in death.

Survivors in addition to his mother include: two sons, James Moore of Memphis and Melvin Moore of Jackson, Tenn.; two daughters, Brenda Talley of the state of California and Norman Jean Moore of Memphis; four brothers, Tom Moore, Sammy Moore, Lewis Moore and Lonnie Moore of Lilbourn; two sisters, Essie B. Harris of Memphis and Edna Moore of Howardville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, D.C. Moore and Doyal Eugene Moore; one daughter, Ann Marie King; two brothers, Willie Moore and J.W. Moore Sr.; and one sister, Melvina Moore.

Services were conducted Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with the Rev. Charles Ivy officiating.

Burial followed in the Simmons Burial Park at Catron.
