Bill Patterson

BLOOMFIELD -- George W. "Bill" Patterson, 61, died Oct. 11, 2004, at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center.

Born Aug. 6, 1943, in Clarksville, Ark., son of Leonia Hyatt Patterson of Grayridge and the late John Henry Patterson, he had lived in the Grayridge area most of his life. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a retired carpenter.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: one son, Jason Patterson of Dexter; five sisters, Ann P. Gray of Panama City, Fla., Sue Barnett of Essex, Glenda Hogan of Grayridge, Shirley Bowling of Bloomfield and Sharon Copeland of Clines Island; and one brother, David Gene Patterson of Orville, Calif.

Two brothers, John Edward Patterson and Jimmie Dale Patterson, preceded him in death on May 30, 1968.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter of Essex will officiate.

The Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team will conduct graveside military rites at the Taylor Cemetery near Essex.
