Sikeston softball players make all-district team

SIKESTON -- Three Sikeston players were named to the All-District Softball Team: Paige Silverthorn, Molly Brinkmeyer and Allison Blurton.

All three are sophomores.

Silverthorn was named a utility player on the first team. This year, she played catcher, shortstop, first base, third base and outfield.

She finished with a .457 average, 12 RBIs, 19 runs, 13 stolen bases and had a fielding percentage of .857.

Brinkmeyer was named an honorable mention catcher. This year, she had a .455 average with 12 RBIs, 10 runs, six stolen bases and had a .890 fielding percentage.

Allison Blurton was an honorable mention shortstop. She led the offense with a .460 average with 13 RBIs, 17 runs, seven stolen bases and had a .889 fielding percentage.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs finished with a record of 6-10 this season.
