Mildred Johnson
SIKESTON - Mildred Bernice Johnson, 83, died at 1:15 a.m. March 28, 2003, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born July 4, 1919, in Hornbeak, Tenn., daughter of the late Samuel Calvin and Lottie Kimbell Weaks, she was a member of the Vanduser Baptist Church.
On Aug. 2, 1939, in Topper Town, she married Arnold D. "Jim" Johnson who preceded her in death on May 28, 1994.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie G. and Beverly J. Johnson of Vanduser; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce M. and Kent D. Bernhard of Charlotte, N.C., and Donna S. and Colie B. Taylor Jr. of Morley; three brothers, Lawrence Weaks of Tiptonville, Tenn., Nelson Weaks of New Haven, Mich., and Gary Weaks of Union City, Tenn.; three sisters, Wilma Hampton of Dearborn Heights, Mich., Earline Allen of Plano, Texas and Onita Foote of Birmingham, Ala.; and eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, one sister and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dennis Cebulak, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Perryville, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
