EAST PRAIRIE - The East Prairie softball team picked up its first win of the year, defeating Greenville 11-4.

Lydia Thomure was the winning pitcher, throwing all seven innings and allowing two earned runs off 10 hits. She struck out five and walked five.

East Prairie (1-6) jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back.

The Lady Eagles were led in hitting by Talia Thurman, who was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Lacy Tatum added two doubles with three RBIs.

Jennifer McGee had a double and Kim Sprinkles had a single for the Lady Eagles.

"We're real proud of the girls and their accomplishments," said East Prairie head coach Jerry Myrick. "It's nice to get the first win. The girls played well."
