Some guy came into my yard and got a baby stroller. I thought he stole it or something, but thank God, he was an honest person and left the money in my door. It was only $3 and he left $5, so if he wants his change, he can stop by and I will gladly give it to him.

Dear Mr. Bill: I'm still puzzling over your vague letter to whomever seeking support for whatever. Mr. Editor, shouldn't there be an accompanying article telling what the hell Mr. Bill is talking about? If the messages are secret and the names of the councilmen are secret and can't be divulged to the ravel of our town, it's all local yokel elite insider stuff and doesn't deserve to occupy space in our local rag. For entertainment value, Mr. Bill, your corn saga was good, but I must tell you W.T. Woods tops it all with his reference to Barbara Bush's untied tubes as weapons of mass destruction.

Who is the idiot who stuck those signs on the antique railroad caboose? That's the most stupid thing I've ever seen around here. It is a true antique, so let's leave it that way take down those soda signs.

Mike, your Sept. 21 editorial, "Seeking solutions to city's problems" is a real good one. Sikeston has got a lot of problems about this housing thing. The city has let it drag on and drag on until the city has itself in a real bind now and in bad shape. Something else, the city needs to stop depending on the federal government and funds from outside the city to help cure all these woes and problems the city has. Sikeston is a rich city. You have enough real estate people, bankers, businessmen and all. You can't tell me something went wrong when those guys are pitching in their part. Invite more of them to the October round table meeting and make sure Mr. Green of the Industrial Development is there. It would be good if the man from Missouri Industrial Development in Jefferson City was there. It would also be good if the Henry boys who are over the Sikeston housing thing were there. One thing you didn't mention is industry. I don't give a hoot how much money you bring in to get more housing. If you don't have the industry to go with it to provide good, high paying jobs so they can make the payments for those houses, you won't see so many real estate agents throwing up signs for houses that haven't been lived in for four or five years. That's a bad problem in Sikeston and it seems like the city isn't doing much about it.

I want to thank Stricker's Auto Shop for doing such a good job on my truck. They were so friendly and nice. They sure did good work for me.

This is in regard to the new Quisnos commercial on TV? How do you people in Sikeston feel about it? I don't like it. I feel it is grotesque. If you don't like the commercials, register your complaint with the television station. I saw it on KFVS-12. I hope enough people call up about the Quisnos commercial that they take it off the air. It is stupid and demeaning to mankind.

The number for KFVS is (573) 335-1212.
