PUXICO - Neal Hendrix, 71, died March 15, 2006, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Sept. 27, 1934, in Puxico, son of the late Wilburn and Pauline Hancock Hendrix, he returned to Puxico in 1967 after having lived several years in Alton, Ill. He owned and operated Neal's Garage and was a transmission specialist.
On July 23, 1962, in Alton, he married Helen Allsman, who survives.
Other survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lloyd Ray and Chris Hendrix of Bethalto, Ill., Tom and Ginger Hendrix of Puxico and Bill Hendrix of Columbia; one daughter, Wanda Marie Rains of Bethalto; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Richard Hendrix and Charles and Nadine Hendrix of Puxico, Donald and Betty Hendrix of Huntington, Tenn., and Allen and Norma Hendrix of Ida, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, June and Harold Waggoner of Alton; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Johnny Buttry of Puxico.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico.
