Lewis Moore

PUXICO - Lewis Moore, 86, died July 29, 2003, at the Puxico Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 6, 1916, in Wappapello, son of the late Harry E. and Ora Edna Coleman Moore, he lived in the Dudley and Puxico areas all his life and was a member of the Bluff City United Pentecostal Church. He had been a farmer and owned and operated the Puxico Stockyards and Auction for 20 years.

On May 16, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, he married Artie Pearl Andrews who preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1997.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James and Welda Moore of Dudley; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Wiley Mattingly of Dudley; one brother, William Franklin Moore of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren J.W. Mattingly and Melissa Wood of Dudley; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. Ted Elledge of Poplar Bluff will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Little Brushy Cemetery in Wappapello.
