Ruth Parker

SIKESTON -- Ruth Parker, 90, died March 30, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 30, 1912, in New Madrid County, daughter of the late James and Cornelie Wilburn, she was a member of the Miner Baptist Church.

On Jan. 8, 1930, she married Edward Parker who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1984.

Two brothers, Ben Wilburn and Bud Wilburn; four sisters, Bess Dodson, Beulah Parker, Violet Ayers and Daisy Crandall; one half-brother, George Wilburn; and two half-sisters, Nancy Calhoun and Sara Matthews, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews including Wade Parker, Wayne Parker and Ralph Ayers of Sikeston.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Mitch Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery.
