SIKESTON - Kelly Barrett is now an agent for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., taking the place left vacant when Garwood Sharp was recently promoted to assistant manager and transferred to the Poplar Bluff office.

SIKESTON - Bernard L. Kincy, teacher of science and math in the Sikeston Senior High School has been selected as a participant in the 1963 Summer Institute for physics, chemistry and mathematics teachers at the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy. The institute is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

SIKESTON - The first in a series of fingerprinting sessions sponsored by Sikeston Elks Lodge 2319 was held Saturday. Parents of students attending the Matthews and Southeast elementary schools were invited to bring their children to the Elks Lodge and have them fingerprinted at no charge. If a child who has been fingerprinted should become a missing person, the fingerprints could be distributed to law enforcement agencies and entered i the FBI computer The Scott County Sheriff's Department helped the Elks fingerprint the children.

NEW MADRID - The Sikeston Bulldogs teed off the 1993 golf season with a 158-174 win over the New Madrid County Central Eagles at the New Madrid Country Club on Tuesday. "We had a pretty good day," said Sikeston head coach Wayne Wright. "Shooting a 158 is a pretty good score for our first match of the season." Sikeston's Aaron Gleason tied for medalist honors with a 37 on the par-35 curse. Brad Blanchard added a 39 for Sikeston. NMCC's Brad Medling carded a 37 for the Eagles. Sikeston also walked away with JV honors, as they dumped the Eagles 178-230.
