SIKESTON - Rueben Clay Taylor, 85, died March 30, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 7, 1917, in McMullin, son of the late Charles Paschall and Ada Adeliene Prichett Taylor, he was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was an operator for the Glass Container Corporation for more than 30 years before retiring.

On May 4, 1938, in Sikeston, he married Evelyn Taylor who preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 2002.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David Clay and Bertie Taylor of Lathrop, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Ron Prince of Senora, Calif.; one sister, Gwenell Lillian Nabhan of Cypress, Calif.; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe M. McCullough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Roy Watkins, John Wayne Newman, Steve Fair, Ken Shields, Gary Estes and Travis Cox.

Honorary pallbearer will be Todd Newman.
