LaTane Lutz
CHARLESTON - LaTane Mooring Lutz, 88, died at 11:25 a.m. July 24, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 1, 1915, in Ridgley, Tenn., daughter of the late Hernando Woody and Goldie Wyatt Mooring, she lived in Charleston most of her life, where she was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a charter and lifetime member of the Junior Study Club.
On Dec. 6, 1935, she married U.S. Army Col. Charles I. "Peachy" Lutz Jr., who preceded her in death on July 11, 1999.
Survivors include: one son, Charles I. Lutz III of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one daughter, Julie Lutz Simmons of Scottsdale; two grandchildren, Elliott Simmons and Elizabeth Simmons Lyon of Atlanta, Ga.; and one great-grandson, George Edward Lyon of Atlanta.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Roger Jespersen, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
