LONG BEACH, Calif. - Don Shrum, 67, formerly of Puxico, Mo., died July 22, 2003, at the Lakewood Regional Medical Center in Lakewood.
Born June 16, 1936, in Puxico, son of the late William E. and Ruth L. Buchanan Shrum, he graduated in 1955 from Puxico High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived in Puxico until moving in 1956 to California where he was a surveyor for Los Angeles County for 37 years.
On Nov. 6, 1960, in Massachusetts, he married Olga Kuryatschi who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dale Shrum of Cathedral City and Eric Shrum of Lakewood; two daughters, Mary Bauer of Irvine and Sally Freyre of Canyon Lake; one brother, Oris Vern Shrum of Acorn Ridge, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
One brother, Dale Shrum, preceded him in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. Elder Jerry Park of Puxico will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Elliott Cemetery near Puxico.
