Alma Dockler

CHARLESTON - Alma D. Dockler, 98, died at 4:50 a.m. July 26, 2003, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.

Born March 4, 1905, in Duluth, Ky., daughter of the late Dave and Cynthia Powell, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was of the Baptist belief.

In 1921, she married Everett Wright who preceded her in death. In 1964, she married Harry Dockler who also preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Calvis W. Wright, and by two grandchildren, Jan Holley and Marion David Wright.

Survivors include: one daughter, Ovaline O'Rourke of Charleston; eight grandchildren, Kathy Coney of Henderson, Ky., Joyce Ohmes, Michael O'Rourke and Jayna Holley of Charleston, Calvis Wright and Judy Borst of St. Louis, Alma Jane Talley of Wickliffe, Ky., and Jeanne Erwin of Greenwood S.C.; and sixteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; three stepsons and two stepdaughters.

Friends may call after noon Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Michael O'Rourke, Calvis Wright, Charlie Holley, Bill Borst, Tony Ohmes and Steve Skaggs.
