Eva Eskew
DEXTER -- Eva L. Eskew, 90, died Dec. 12, 2003, at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Dexter.
Born Feb. 1, 1913, near Bloomfield, daughter of the late William Albert and Edith Edna Moore Martin, she had lived all of her life in the Dexter area and attended Sweet Prospect Baptist Church. She was also a Gold Star Mother.
On Jan. 16, 1932, in Bloomfield, she married Curtis L. Eskew who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Sgt. Curtis Dean Eskew who was killed in action during the Vietnam War on July 29, 1967; one brother, Emory Martin; one sister, Wanda Ross; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, Dale Jean Eskew of Dexter and Larry Dwayne Eskew of Jackson; four daughters, Helen Delois Gales and Vera Pauline Griffey of Dexter, Reta Mardell DePriest of Kennett and JoAnn Pettibone of Overland; and 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dean Williams of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.
