SIKESTON - Audrey D. Sweet Brock, 87, formerly of Bertrand and Charleston, died at 8:25 a.m. April 12, 2004, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born Jan. 6, 1917, in Mississippi County, son of the late William Kelly and Clara Marton Hedge, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bertrand.

She was first married to William Donald Resler and then to Hardy Sweet, who both preceded her in death.

In 1979, she married James L. Brock who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Bettye Cooper of Canton, Texas, Brenda Patton of San Antonio, Wanda Hughes of Joplin and Sharon Kuykendall of Warsaw; two stepsons, James M. Brock of Sikeston and Terry Brock of Kansas City; three grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James Carver Sweet and Hardy Eugene Sweet; one stepson, Franklin "Bud" Brock; and two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Rick Lasley pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
