Norman Slinkard

DELTA - Norman D. Slinkard, 82, died at 8:20 a.m. Jan. 8, 2004, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 13, 1921, in Cape County, son of the late David Guy and Ollie Lillian McClain Slinkard, he was a self-employed farmer and a construction worker in Cape Girardeau before retiring. A member of the Allenville Baptist Church, he was also a member of the Delta Riding Club.

Survivors include: four sisters, Gladys Bond of Shell Knob, Novella Howell of Chaffee and Patsy Statler and Jane Klaus of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. David Butler will officiate.

Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
