Charles Hornback
ANAHEIM, Calif. - Charles Edward Hornback, 67, formerly of Mississippi County, Mo., died Feb. 15, 2004.
Born Jan. 21, 1937, in Mississippi County, son of the late William and Beulah Martin Hornback, he had attended the First Baptist Church in Charleston, Mo., and graduated from Charleston High School. He gathered intelligence for the U.S. Air Force while stationed in Montana, Palm Beach, Fla., and the Philippines and retired in 1985 as an insurance risk adjuster for the Shelter Insurance Company.
His wife, Cora Aldridge Hornback, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lisa Ann Hornback of Cumming, Ga.; one son, Charles Edward Hornback II of Anaheim; one brother, David Hornback of Murray, Ky.; five sisters, Ruby Jane Renfer of Lawrence, Mich., Doris Frazier of Augusta, Ga., Billie Jean Hart of Smyrna, Tenn., Patsy Ann Leker of Lake Villa, Ill., and Nancy Estes of Batesville, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Marie Hornback; and one sister, Judy Hornback Wagner.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Keith Huffman, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Private graveside services will be conducted at the Maynard Cemetery in Diehlstadt.
