MORTON, Ill. - Michael R. Pryor, 58, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 8:09 a.m. Jan. 27, 2004, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Aug. 18, 1945, in Sikeston, son of the late Roy Francis and Stella Mae Lee Pryor, he served with the U.S. Navy from 1963-67 and was a radar controller aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp. He retired in 1998 as a quality control inspector for Caterpillar Inc. at the Morton Parts Distribution Center, after 31 years of service. A member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, he was also a member of United Auto Workers Local 974 in East Peoria, the Thursday Morning Retirees Breakfast Group and served on the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Committee Board of Directors.
On Feb. 8, 1969, in Pekin, he married Ruth Lee Fennel who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Tim Pryor of Peoria; one sister, Charlotte Pryor of East Peoria; one uncle, Kenneth Pryor of Champaign; and two aunts, Marie Pryor of Pekin and LeeEsther Lee of Bertrand, Mo.
Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton, where a prayer service is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark DeSutter officiating.
Burial will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
