SIKESTON - Scott County Central's girls basketball team coached by Fred Johnson, have been ranked No. 1 among the state's 1A teams by Missouri Association of Sportswriters and Sportscasters. SCC is also ranked at the top of 1A in the boys poll, while Malden is No. 2 in 3A and Puxico is No. 4 in 2A. Unranked in the polls are Charleston's boys, 13-6 after defeating Malden Tuesday, and Risco's girls team.
SIKESTON - The winners in the Tiniest Winter Princess Pageant, conducted in Sikeston on Jan. 15, were recently announced. Amanda Hopper was first runner-up; Casey Danielle Palmer, queen; and Kirsten Williams, second runner-up.

SIKESTON - Sikeston heads into the home stretch of its five-game road swing on Friday when the Bulldogs go to Dexter. The Bulldogs, now 9-3, go to Dyersburg, Tenn., on Saturday, then host four of their next five games, starting with Marion, Ill., on Feb. 1.
