BENTON -- The Missouri Department of Conservation will hold informational meetings in Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot and Scott counties to discuss the new Idle Land Pilot Program.

The program will provide landowners with an incentive payment to idle center pivot corners and other acreage on unproductive drought prone soils. More specific details will be provided by the MDC, Private Land Services staff.

Meetings will be held at the following USDA service centers:

Dunklin County USDA Service Center, 704 N. Bypass, in Kennett on Feb. 2. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m.

New Madrid County USDA Service Center, 495C, Hwy. 61, in New Madrid on Feb. 3. The meeting will start at 1:30 p.m.

Pemiscot County USDA Service Center, 1205 Hwy. 84 West, in Caruthersville on Feb. 2. The meeting will start at 1:30 p.m.

Scott County USDA Service Center, 6458 State Hwy. 77, in Benton on Feb. 3. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m.

Mississippi County USDA Service Center, 831 South Hwy. 105, in Charleston on Feb. 4. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m.
