PORTAGEVILLE - Alfonzo Lee Wilson, 47, died Jan. 22, 2004, at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis.

Born June 23, 1956, in Portageville, son of the late Joe Wilson and Mattie Mae Rouse-Jackson, he was the stepson of the late Elton Robert "High Pocket" Jackson. A 1975 graduate of Portageville High School and veteran of the U.S. Army, he had attended The Church of the Opened Door in Milwaukee.

Survivors include: nine brothers, Elton Earl Jackson of Malden, Don Wilson and Gregory Wilson of Minnesota, Marion Earl Rouse of California, Clyde Nolen, Larry Nolen and Frankie Nolen of Portageville, David Nolen of Cape Girardeau and Bobby Nolen of Indianapolis, Ind; eight sisters, Zennie Nadine Jackson, Evelyn Jackson, Margaret Jackson Preyer-Partee of Portageville, Sarah Yancy of Portageville, Carolyn Nolen of Sikeston, Erma Nolen of New Madrid, Geannie Wilcher of Cape Girardeau and Patricia Folks of Chicago, Ill.; his foster mother, Lena Mitchell of Milwaukee; foster sister, Mary Jackson of Milwaukee; foster brothers, Percy Mitchell and Jerry Carter of Milwaukee; and a special friend, Bob Woods of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy DeWayne Wilson.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Thursday until service time at noon at the Temple of God Church. The Rev. Reggie Grant will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.

DeLisle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
