MORLEY - Chris Pullen racked up 26 points to lead the Scott Central Braves past the Delta Bobcats Friday night 76-60 in the regular season finale for both teams.
The win put the Braves at 13-12 for the season.
The Braves came out strong in the opening quarter with Pullen setting the pace with 11 points.
Delta's Brent Menz who led his squad with 19 points, gave the Bobcats their only lead of the evening with one of his game-high five treys.
After Pullen put the Braves on top with a bucket, Menz answered and put Delta ahead 3-2.
From there the two teams played almost evenly, but SCC managed a six-point bulge at the end of the period 23-17.
The second quarter was disastrous for the visiting Bobcats when they were hit with a 17-2 Brave run in the first 5:55 of the period.
Five Braves dented the scoreboard with Pullen's seven leading the way.
The Braves' surge gave them their biggest lead of contest at 40-19, and Scott Central led by a 42-23 count at halftime.
"The kids are playing hard, but the one piece that was missing was the organizational piece on our offense. Tonight they did a really good job of being in control and setting the ball up when they had to," commented SCC coach Melvin Porter.
"The kids are geling, and that's a good thing right now with district play starting on Monday," said Porter.
Joining Pullen in double figures for SCC were Daniel Holman with 10, Chris Monroe had a dozen and Jeremy Johnson chipped in 11.
Menz led the Bobcats with 19. Kevin Bartels and Zack Kelly each added 14.
Delta cut the Braves' lead to 14 at 59-45 by the end of the third quarter, but over the entire second half, never seriously threatened a comeback.
At the three minute mark of the final stanza, the Braves led by 20 at 71-51 and coasted to the easy win.
The Braves who have been seeded first in Class 1, District 1 will face the Cooter Wildcats on Monday night at 6:00 at Clarkton.
Delta will take on Oak Ridge on Monday at 8:30 at Zalma High School in Class 1, District 2.
