"Dub" Crowden
PERKINS - William Lee Crowden, 85, died at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 10, 2003, at his home.
Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Lamar, Ark., son of the late W.L. and Jennie Seiler Crowden, he was employed with Pipefitters Local 562 in St. Louis before retiring and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of Chaffee Masonic Lodge 615, Sikeston Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3319 and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.
On Jan. 7, 1986, he married Irene Himes who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: six sons, Gary Crowden and Ron Crowden of Chaffee, Harold Crowden and David Crowden of Scott City, Michael Crowden of Cape Girardeau and Don Crowden of Kemp, Texas; two daughters, Carol Gribler and Cheryl Wilhite of Chaffee; one stepson, Bobby Himes of Sikeston; one brother, Edward Crowden of Jackson, Mich.; one sister, Mattie Cochran of Aquilla; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Alvie Surface will officiate.
Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
Pallbearers will be: Ronald Wilhite, Gary Crowden, Don Crowden, Ron Crowden, David Crowden and Kevin Gibler.
