Bob Baker
EDMOND, Okla. - Robert L. "Bob" Baker, 73, died Feb. 23, 2004, following an extended illness.
Born Sept. 2, 1930, in Dixson, Ill., he served with the U.S. Army from 1953-55 and began a career with National Lock Sales in 1961. During his tenure with National Lock Sales, Baker held the positions of director of sales and marketing in Sikeston, Mo., marketing manager in Rockford, Ill., and was also a national sales and marketing director. He was western region sales manager when he retired in 1997, after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Edmond. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a past member of the Rockford Temple Oriental Band and the Lions Club of Illinois.
On Jan. 28, 1978, he married Carol McCann and they moved to Edmond in 1988. His wife survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and Mearle Longnecker of Rockford, Ill., Janice Kesler of Grandville, Mich., Barbara and Larry Lofton of Tulsa and Robin and Gordon Baker of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Norma Rockford and Shirley and Alan Nelson of Rockford, Donna and Harry Cecil of Lexington, Ky., and Lois and Angus MacKenzie of Livonia, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Don, Sara, Nick Timothy, Aaron, Ryan, Andrew and Alexa; three great-grandchildren, Neal, Paige and Jacob; and nieces, nephews and friends all around the country.
One brother, Gordon Baker, preceded him in death.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
Burial followed in the Parkland Cemetery in Agra.
Baggerly Funeral Home of Edmond was in charge of arrangements.
