SENATH - Senath-Hornersville improved to 15-6 on the season, winning the last home game with a 69-34 rout of district foe Holcomb on Senior Night. The Lions connected on seven three-pointers in the first half and held a commanding 49-15 lead at the break.
Senath-Hornersville's senior laden squad, paced by 6'4" center Landon Small with 20 points and 6'2" wingman Jeremy Winkle with 19, was too much for the 4-20 Hornets to handle. Winkle knocked down five of the Lions' nine total treys and fellow senior Ryan Skelton hit twice from downtown to finish the game with 14 points.
Holcomb was led by Gary Dubar with 13 and Kevin Johnson added 11.
The Lions drew the top seed in the upcoming Class 2 District 1 Tournament at Campbell and won't be in action until Tuesday when the play the winner of the Monday game between No. 8 Holcomb and No. 9 Bernie.
SHHS has won 10 of it's last 12 games since losing to Arkansas power Gosnell in the finals of the SHHS Invitational. The Lions other two losses came to Twin Rivers and Kennett .
The Lions also won the jayvee contest 57-48. Six-foot-four sophomore center Andy Braden poured in 20 to lead all scorers while teammates Quinn Dogan and Luke Small finished with 15 and 13 for the Lions. Eric Masterson and Nathan Davis led Holcomb with 13 and 10.
LEOPOLD - The Advance Hornets jumped out to a large lead on the road and hung on to defeat Leopold Friday night.
Tyler Bowman led the Hornets with 18 points while Daryl Wade added13 points.
