CHARLESTON - James Edward Fowler, 66, died at 7:30 a.m. July 7, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 12, 1936, in East Prairie, son of the late James Aubrey and Rosie Edna Priester Fowler, he lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist belief.

On Oct. 4, 1983, he married Candy Marleen Cramner who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Tuesday Huff of East Prairie; three sisters, Helen Fowler and Asalee Haines of Sikeston and Lucy Pearl Fish of Columbus, N.M.; and two grandsons, Cody Huff and Quentin Huff of East Prairie.

One son preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the family home with Kenneth Gibson officiating.

Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
