Marie Spicer
CHAFFEE - Marie Martin Spicer, 83, died at 4:20 p.m. March 22, 2004, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born Feb. 2, 1921, in New Hamburg, daughter of the late John Michael and Nora Mary Lux Dirnberger, she retired as a sewing machine operator for Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee. A member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Daughters of St. Ambrose, she was also a member of VFW Post 3127 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 389 Ladies Auxiliary in Chaffee.
On May 8, 1943, she married Elmer J. Martin who preceded her in death on April 14, 1973.
She and Howard Spicer were married April 21, 1991, and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Larry Martin and Wayne Martin of Chaffee; and four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and two grandsons also preceded her in death.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where parish prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
