SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Ray Agee of Sikeston are parents of a baby boy born Thursday at Sikeston General Hospital.

SIKESTON - Miss Nancy Bryant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Bryant, was a member of the Federalist Party at Missouri Girls' State, which she attended in Columbia.

SIKESTON - The estimated unemployment rates in Scott, New Madrid, Mississippi and Stoddard counties declined in May over the previous month, but remained above the statewide average of 9.3 percent.

BENTON - The Scott County Court Thursday agreed to return approximately $100,000 in interest revenue from school taxes collected since 1981 back to seven school districts in the county.

DEXTER - Tim and Kim Flowers are the parents of their second child, first son, born June 18, 1993. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 3 1/2 ounces, was 19 1/2-inches long and has been named Owen Tate Flowers.

EAST PRAIRIE - The main events for the Sweet Corn Festival are set for July 3. The parade will be preceded by the bicycle decorating contest. Events will include an all-day barbecue, souvenir stands, dunking booth, a jail, ice cream and cake social and pretty baby contest. The East Prairie History Mural will be dedicated at the Grace Bright Campbell Park.
