PLANO, Texas - Herbert B. Collier Jr., 72, died Oct. 18, 2004, at his home in Plano.
Born Oct. 13, 1932, in Paducah, Ky., son of the late Herbert B. Collier Sr. and Selma Attebury Collier, he attended grade school and high school in Paducah, graduating from Dorian Private School. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Army, serving two years in the Korean War, of which 18 months were served overseas. After leaving the military, he was employed by Equifax Corporation for 23 years, leaving in 1977 to pursue other interests.
On Aug. 3, 1957, he married Dorothy Marie Hampton who survives.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cindy Collier of Plano; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brian Phelps of Little Elm, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicole Kennedy, Nick Kennedy and Becki Collier of Sikeston, Mo., and Chelsea Phelps and Christopher Phelps of Little Elm; one great-grandson, Hunter Kennedy of Sikeston; and one uncle and two aunts.
Preceding him in death were twin grandsons, two aunts and one uncle.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Friday until time for a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
