SIKESTON - Sikeston restaurants, drug stores and taverns have failed to come up to minimum sanitary requirements, according to results of tests completed last month by the mobile unit of the Milk and Food Laboratory of the State Division of Health.

SIKESTON - A canvass for the new Sikeston area city directory is under way, according to Harold Snedeker, canvass manager of Chillicothe, Ohio. The canvassing will continue for eight to 10 weeks and the directory will be published in the spring.

CARUTHERSVILLE - The shooting of a teen-ager is under investigation by the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department. A 16-year-old Hayti Heights resident was treated at the Pemiscot Hospital for a single gunshot wound to the foot. The youth told officers he was walking in the backyard when heard a single shot and felt a sting in his foot.

COLUMBUS, Ga. - John Kosky was promoted to the rank of sergeant when he scored 198 in a test from a possible 200. Stationed at Fort Benning, he is the son of Robert Kosky of New Madrid.
