Joe Riley
SCOTT CITY -- Freddie Joe Riley, 64, died at 1:24 a.m. June 27, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 1, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late James Amphlis and Jeanette Mae Bles Riley, he was a barge loader in the West Lake quarry for Local 282 of Cape Girardeau. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 6407 of Scott City, National Geographic Society, National Rifle Association and St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1120 in Cape Girardeau.
On Oct. 22, 1962, in Cape Girardeau, he married Betty Yvonne Diamond who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Blair Brown of Kelso, Brian Brown and Pete Riley of Scott City and Danny Riley of Norfolk, Va.; one daughter, Brenda Brown of Jackson; one brother, Stan Riley of Jackson; two sisters, Lavonna Lenand of Rockview and Karen Robert of Scott City; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Randy Morse will officiate.
Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
