DEXTER -- Genalee Jeanette Jarrell, 72, died Sept. 28, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 27, 1935, in Lavalla, daughter of the late Orlando and Kathleen Brooks Smith, she had spent her childhood in Essex, lived in St. Louis and in Barstow, Calif., from 1987 to 1994 and was currently a Dexter resident. She was a retired rate clerk with Yellow Freight and attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Debra Jarrell of Dexter and David and Kathy Jarrell of Barstow; two brothers, Harold Smith of Casatt, S.C. and Terry Smith of Decatur, Ill.; seven sisters, June Skaggs of Drumright, Okla. and Etta Tally and Louis Turin of St. Louis, Irene Crader of Hickory, Miss., Doris Guttry of Northtown, Pa., Madonna Schoen of New Berlin, Ill. and Gwendolyn Smith of Vandalia, Ill.; and six grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
One brother, Hickman Smith; and one sister, Sonda Douglass, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. Monday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Phil Warren will officiate.
