DEXTER -- Cecil Melvin Triplett, 96, died Sept. 28, 2007, in the Golden Living Center at Dexter.

Born Jan. 5, 1911, in Essex, son of the late Edward Albert and Hettie Snider Triplett, he was a farmer.

On Aug. 10, 1932, at Essex, he married Evelyn Eaton, who preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 2001.

One brother, Fred Triplett; and two sisters, Ora Black and Cora Wilkerson, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Melvin Triplett and Jim Triplett, both of Dexter; two daughters, Jo Ann Freeman of St. Louis and Janet Viau of St. Charles; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
