CHARLESTON - Jane Ellen Mulkey Goodin, 91, died Oct. 6, 2007, at her home.

Born April 2, 1916, at Sikeston, to the late John Levi and Bess Full Heggie Mulkey, she had lived in Charleston most of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, where she had served as president and secretary of the United Methodist Women for a number of years. She was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter CV, a charter member and past president of the Junior Study Club and had also served as a Girl Scout leader.

On Aug. 8, 1936, she married Sam Cox Goodin, who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1990.

One brother, Dr. Jim Mulkey, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy Anne and Charles Brink and Myrtle Goodin and Bruce Austin, all of Charleston; one sister, Dorothy Moxley of Wyatt; six grandchildren, Stephen Bruce Austin, Scott Goodin Brink and Sally Anne Naile, all of Charleston; Sam Goodin Austin of Cape Girardeau, David Elgin Austin of Webster Groves and Sara Jane Goodman of Memphis, Tenn.; and 11 great-grandchildren, Brink Naile, Cameron Goodman, Jettie Kate Brink, Edward Goodman, James Naile, Jane Ellen Brink, Catherine Jane Austin, Reagan Austin, Ryan Austin, Alex Austin and Matthew Austin.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Roger Jespersen, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Stephen Austin, Sam Austin, David Austin, Scott Brink; and her grandsons-in-law, Frank Goodman and Jerry Naile Jr.
