CHARLESTON - Ruth Jane Vaughan Jackson, 83, died at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 7, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born June 7, 1924, at Leota, to the late Jesse and Elizabeth Burgess Vaughan, she was raised in the West Plains area before moving to Charleston.

On March 15, 1941, she married Albert Vernon "A.V." Jackson, who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2007.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Herbert Vaughan, Buck Vaughan and Charles Vaughan; and three sisters, Ester Yeaden, Bertie Mae Howard and her triplet sister, Rachel Eagleman.

Survivors include: five sons and three daughters-in-law, Howard and Betty Jackson of Sikeston, Kenny Jackson of Sikeston, Albert and Janet Jackson of Grand Rivers, Ky., Jesse Jackson of Greenville, N.C., and Johnny and Denise Jackson of Catalba, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and James Belk of East Prairie; her triplet brother, Ray Vaughan of Kansas City; and 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Steve Johnson, pastor of the Victory Baptist Church in East Prairie, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Dustin Allen, Jimmy Allen Jr., Logan Gilmore, Scott Jackson, Jared Jackson and Travis Jackson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jody Jackson.
