HORNERSVILLE - Joseph Campbell "J.C." Tinnin, 86, died Nov. 5, 2007, at Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett. Born Oct. 15, 1921, at Hornersville, to the late Leonard and Willie Shelton Tinnin, he was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. HORNERSVILLE - Joseph Campbell "J.C." Tinnin, 86, died Nov. 5, 2007, at Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 15, 1921, at Hornersville, to the late Leonard and Willie Shelton Tinnin, he was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from the state of Missouri where he worked in weights and measures. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 362, the Masons and the Methodist Church in Hornersville.

On July 16, 1941, at Hornersville, he married Iona Marie Gooch, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and Linda Tinnin of Sikeston and Charles Tinnin of Cadiz, Ky.; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Eddy Tinnin; one daughter, Carol Tinnin Bell; and five brothers and one sister.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church in Hornersville. The Rev. Tim Pemberton will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Horner Cemetery.
