SIKESTON - The Sikeston Park Board discussed improvements to Malone Park and agreed to recommend the addition of two soccer fields at the Sikeston Sports Complex during its Monday afternoon meeting.

CHARLESTON - More than 140 jobs will be lost when De-Sta-Co Manufacturing closes its facility in Charleston. Operations at the Charleston plant, in existence since 1976, will move to the De-Sta-Co facilities in Arkansas. Employees were notified Wednesday of the plant's closing and lay-

offs. Lay-offs will start Dec. 12.

BENTON - As expected, Kelly High School won the Class 1A-2A cross country state title over the weekend, but unexpectedly, it wasn't won by the title-

defending boys of Thomas W. Kelly, it was won by the girls. At Oak Hills Golf Center in Jefferson City on Saturday, the boys placed second and the girls took first.
